Readers at Mass
Readers prepare and read the readings of the Mass and also welcome and greet parishioners beforehand.
This Ministry is a good way to get to know fellow parishioners.
Parishioners who would like to become involved in reading or greeting at the three Sunday Masses should contact Maureen Gardner on gardnerm@iinet.net.au.
Help can be provided if a little unsure and also an excellent book called ‘Break Open the Word’, very useful for preparing the Sunday readings. Please contact Maureen for the book and to join the Readers Ministry.
Jesus, holy and beloved,
hold me always in your
‘yes’. Give me your trust in
our Loving Father when I,
too, am swamped in
darkness and pain. Give
me your strength to love
God with all my heart,
soul, life, and to love my
neighbour as myself.
Empty me of pride, power
and self-deceit and fill me
with humility, openness,
honesty. Thus, dear
Jesus, within this gift of
my life, make me like you,
holy and beloved and
living a life of ‘yes’, to
your Father and my
Father. Amen.
